Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor adult Med-Surg and telemetry patients, using the nursing process to deliver safe, effective care
• Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for patients with acute and chronic conditions
• Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and respond to changes in patient status promptly and confidently
• Provide intermediate care in CCU and assist with hybrid cath lab procedures or ortho surgery-related care as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient flow through the observation unit and acute care areas
• Participate in the unit’s call rotation and step in for staffing needs when requested

Qualifications

• Current RN license to practice in Colorado (required)
• Current BLS — American Heart Association (required)
• Current ACLS — American Heart Association (required) to provide intermediate/CCU care when needed
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Acute Care / Med-Surg / Telemetry (posting also references at least 3 years RN Med-Surg experience)
• Comfort working night shifts, weekend rotations, and participating in unit call rotation
• Experience with orthopedic surgery patients, cath lab/hybrid procedures, observation unit workflows, and intermediate/CCU care is highly desirable

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and continuous telemetry monitoring
• Care planning, implementation and evaluation using the nursing process
• Care coordination across interdisciplinary teams
• Acute care and Med-Surg adult nursing expertise
• Ability to provide intermediate/CCU level care when required
• Familiarity with call rotation procedures and working in a high-acuity, variable-census environment
