Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality labor, delivery and postpartum care for low-risk patients (>36 weeks)
• Continuously monitor fetal status using OBIX and Phillips monitoring systems and act decisively on findings
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilize newborns (NRP/STABLE protocols) when required
• Titrate oxytocin and occasional magnesium sulfate drips safely and according to orders
• Document care accurately and efficiently in EPIC electronic charting
• Collaborate with anesthesia, OB and neonatal teams to support safe C-sections and transfers
• Serve as a charge RN when assigned, taking leadership and assignment responsibilities
• Participate fully in orientation (including the required in-state orientation week)

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Colorado
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience (L&D experience required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and STABLE certification
• Competency with EPIC electronic charting and fetal monitoring (OBIX/Phillips)
• Ability to titrate oxytocic and tocolytic drips (oxytocin, magnesium sulfate)
• Comfort managing neonatal CPAP and coordinating transfer for ventilated neonates when needed
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and scheduled call shifts

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing — BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor & Delivery and Postpartum (LDRP) care best practices
• Fetal monitoring interpretation and OBIX / Phillips monitor use
• EPIC electronic medical record proficiency
• Neonatal resuscitation, STABLE stabilization, and CPAP management
• Titration and safe administration of oxytocin and magnesium sulfate
• Familiarity with AWHONN guidelines and unit ratio expectations
• Charge nurse duties and effective clinical leadership
• Effective communication with interdisciplinary teams in an acute care setting
