Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the medical-surgical unit
• Perform thorough assessments and promptly document changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and discharge instructions
• Respond to emergent situations with calm, skilled practice and appropriate escalation
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (ability to obtain/hold New Hampshire RN license preferred)
• Medical-Surgical nursing experience (prior med-surg experience highly valued)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred or available upon hire
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background/drug screening
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of med-surg nursing practices and acute care fundamentals
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Ability to perform head-to-toe assessments and prioritize nursing interventions
• Comfort with electronic health record documentation
• Effective time management and delegation skills
• Skilled in patient and family education with a focus on safety and recovery
