Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients with compassion and clinical excellence
• Monitor, assess, and document patient condition using advanced ICU monitoring tools
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage ventilators according to orders and protocols
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment plans, and recovery expectations
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license to practice in Hawaii or Compact RN license as applicable
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• ACLS certification recommended and highly valued
• Prior ICU or critical care nursing experience preferred
• Strong assessment skills, ability to manage high-acuity patients and multiple priorities
• Comfort with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Ongoing professional development encouraged

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in critical care assessment and interventions
• Experience with ventilator management and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Medication administration and infusion pump management
• Strong clinical judgment and prioritization in high-stress situations
• Effective communication and teamwork within interdisciplinary teams
• Adaptability to 12.5-hour shift routines and variable unit demands
