Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to assigned patients during the night shift
• Perform thorough patient assessments and promptly communicate changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care in the chart
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and update care plans
• Prioritize patient safety during admissions, transfers and discharges
• Educate patients and families about care plans and follow-up needs
• Support unit flow by assisting with admissions, discharges and patient throughput

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in California
• Prior clinical experience in medical-surgical or MST care preferred
• Current BLS required; ACLS or specialty certifications encouraged where applicable
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, and teamwork mindset
• Ability to work overnight 12-hour shifts and manage acute patient needs

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; diploma acceptable with RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid foundation in nursing fundamentals and medical-surgical care
• Familiarity with MST-related workflows or willingness to learn MST protocols
• Medication administration, IV therapy and basic wound care skills
• Effective patient assessment, documentation and care coordination
• Comfortable working in an electronic medical record environment
