Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered medical-surgical nursing care on a 12-hour shift
Perform thorough assessments and continuously monitor patient condition
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to create and execute care plans
Document patient care, changes, and interventions clearly in the medical record
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
Respond effectively to emergencies and escalate concerns when needed

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Louisiana license or eligibility as required)
Experience in medical-surgical nursing (Med/Surg) — comfort with 12-hour shift rhythms is a plus
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS and other advanced certifications encouraged when relevant
Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and time-management skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced hospital environment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing diploma required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Medical-surgical patient assessment and monitoring
Medication administration and IV therapy fundamentals
Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
Patient and family education techniques
Prioritization, delegation, and teamwork in multi-patient settings
Infection control and safety best practices
