Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (typical windows: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), schedule varies by unit

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Medical-Surgical unit
Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and discharge planning
Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and follow-up

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
Advanced certifications such as ACLS or PALS preferred when applicable
Prior Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred
Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and adapting to rotating schedules
Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
Proficient documentation and charting in electronic health records
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to prioritize and manage a busy patient load safely
Basic familiarity with common Med-Surg procedures and post-op care
