Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing to adult ICU patients with compassion and clinical excellence
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data, ventilator settings, and laboratory results to inform timely interventions
• Administer medications, titrate infusions, and manage advanced life support devices according to protocols
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Perform thorough assessments, document care accurately in the EHR, and communicate changes in patient status promptly
• Participate in shift handoffs, patient/family education, and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care
• Contribute to unit quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with safety standards

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (ability to obtain Louisiana RN license if not already licensed)
• ICU nursing experience preferred; demonstrated ability to manage critically ill patients
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required or willing to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment skills and comfort with ventilator and hemodynamic management
• Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Ability to work 12-hour clinical shifts in a fast-paced ICU environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and monitoring (ventilator management, vasoactive drips, invasive lines)
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and time management
• Infection control practices and patient safety principles
• Ability to educate patients and families about complex conditions and care plans
• Collaborative teamwork and effective interdisciplinary communication
