Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage, assess and stabilize patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Administer medications, start IVs and perform treatments per protocols and physician orders
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and support staff to coordinate efficient patient care
• Monitor and document patient status, interventions and responses in the medical record
• Provide compassionate patient and family education, explaining care plans and next steps
• Respond to emergency situations calmly and lead nursing interventions as needed
• Support throughput by facilitating admissions, discharges and transfers in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license (Hawaii) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Previous Emergency Department (ED/ER) experience preferred
• Comfortable working 12.5-hour shifts and functioning in a fast-paced environment
• Up-to-date immunizations and the ability to complete required health screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing diploma required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• IV therapy, medication administration and procedural competence
• Cardiac monitoring and basic ACLS familiarity
• Excellent communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to prioritize and multitask under pressure
• Accurate and timely clinical documentation
