Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department
• Assess and triage patients rapidly, prioritizing care based on acuity
• Administer medications, treatments and interventions safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes with clinical judgment and urgency
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up care
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and participating in quality improvement

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain Hawaii licensure
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in Emergency Department/ED/ER nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Current, active clinical skills including IV therapy, medication administration and emergency procedures
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment
• Willingness to complete facility onboarding requirements such as background check and drug screen

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

• Strong triage and emergency assessment skills
• Critical thinking and rapid decision-making under pressure
• Effective communication with patients, families and the care team
• Proficiency with electronic health record documentation
• Clinical skills in IV starts, medication administration and emergency procedures
• Prioritization and time management in a high-acuity environment
