Roles & Responsibilities

Assess patients' nutritional needs and develop individualized care plans
Provide medical nutrition therapy and evidence-based counseling
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
Document assessments, plans, and progress accurately in the patient record
Educate patients and families on nutrition goals and practical strategies
Participate in orientation and support new teammates as they get up to speed
Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, adjusting plans as needed

Qualifications

Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required
State licensure or registration as required by California
Strong clinical nutrition assessment and counseling skills
Comfortable working within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
Excellent communication, documentation, and time-management abilities
BLS or other facility-required certifications as requested

Education

Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field
Completion of an accredited dietetic internship and RD credential

Knowledge & Skills

Medical nutrition therapy and clinical nutrition knowledge
Experience with nutrition assessment tools and care planning
Proficiency with electronic health record documentation
Patient education and motivational interviewing techniques
Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage documentation efficiently
Collaborative approach to working with clinical teams
