Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality inpatient pediatric care for a 30-bed unit with average daily census of ~16–18
• Perform thorough newborn nursery examinations and ensure smooth transitions of care
• Respond to and manage pediatric consultations from the Emergency Department
• Collaborate closely with pediatric subspecialists, intensivists and the multidisciplinary care team
• Participate in patient-centered care planning and coordinate with the 16-bed PICU as needed
• Engage in teaching and mentoring of pediatric residents and medical students
• Contribute to clinical quality improvement aligned with Pediatrix standards

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
• MD or DO degree with completed Pediatric residency
• Eligibility for or possession of an active Nevada medical license (able to obtain one prior to start)
• Experience in pediatric inpatient care, newborn nursery exams and ED pediatric consultations
• Comfort working in a Level II Trauma Center environment with strong subspecialty support
• Academic or teaching experience preferred; able to work with pediatric residents and medical students
• Must be able to reside within the immediate local area; relocation may be required
• Not accepting Locum or visa-sponsored candidates (U.S. work authorization required)

• MD or DO
• Completed Pediatrics residency

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and inpatient pediatric management skills
• Experience coordinating care with PICU and pediatric subspecialists
• Comfort consulting in a busy ED setting for pediatric patients
• Ability to teach and mentor residents and medical students effectively
• Team-oriented communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to patient-centered care and quality improvement
