Location: Bakersfield, CA

Start Date: 06-17-2026

End Date: 09-16-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Mostly 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM one day a week; weekend requirement every third weekend with Monday and Friday off that weekend

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive physical therapy assessments and treatments for acute inpatient populations including general medical, deconditioned, post-surgical (TKA, THA, spinal), and orthopedic patients
Cover multiple units including Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER as needed
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve patient mobility and function
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated patient care
Document patient progress and adjust interventions to achieve optimal outcomes

Qualifications

Valid California Physical Therapy License
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
Previous acute inpatient experience required
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload of 12+ patients per day

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in acute care physical therapy including orthopedic and neurologic conditions
Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Proficient in electronic medical records and documentation
