Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Provide crisis intervention and perform 5150 evaluations for involuntary psychiatric holds
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
- Advocate for patients' mental health needs and connect them with community resources
- Document clinical interventions and maintain accurate patient records
Qualifications
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California - required
- Current BLS certification - required
- Must be 5150 certified in California (training and exam with 80% pass required)
- Prior experience with Dignity Health or CommonSpirit facility strongly preferred
- At least one year of recent social work experience in a psychiatric setting
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of California mental health laws and 5150 procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with patients and teams
- Ability to manage high-stress situations and provide empathetic care
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
