Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, mobility, toileting)
• Monitor and record vital signs and any changes in resident condition accurately
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Document care and communicate observations clearly to nursing staff and supervisors
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through consistent, kind care
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to maintain a safe environment

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working with geriatric populations in a long-term care setting
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification or equivalent training required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and safe resident transfers
• Proficient in taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with basic infection prevention and control practices
• Comfortable using electronic or paper charting systems for documentation
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced care environment
