Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Start Date: 04-28-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 8-hour shifts; specific start/end times and days to be confirmed (assignment begins April 28, 2026)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents—assist with bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility
Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nurse in charge
Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
Observe and document resident behavior, mood, and physical condition in a clear, timely manner
Promote resident dignity and independence while delivering person-centered care
Collaborate with the nursing team to ensure continuity of care and smooth shift handoffs

Qualifications

Current CNA certification in Pennsylvania (required)
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
High school diploma or GED preferred
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing helpful but new grads welcome

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Fundamental patient care skills and ADL assistance
Comfort taking and documenting vital signs and basic clinical observations
Infection control and proper use of PPE
Basic charting and clear documentation practices
Compassionate resident engagement and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with nursing staff
