Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and independence
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Support resident engagement through meaningful interaction and activities
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and follow individualized care plans
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification in Maryland or equivalent
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or elder care is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and safe resident transfers
• Basic infection control and safety practice knowledge
• Familiarity with charting (electronic or paper) and accurate documentation
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach with strong interpersonal skills
