Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to older adults and support their dignity
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Measure and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to nursing staff
• Help with safe transfers, ambulation, and mobility assistance following facility protocols
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Document care provided in a timely and accurate manner

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working with older adults and supporting their needs with patience and respect
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health/immunization requirements
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow facility policies and procedures

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program and current certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with activities of daily living and resident care
• Basic clinical skills: vitals, feeding assistance, toileting, and mobility support
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and team members
• Understanding of infection control and safety protocols
• Ability to observe, report, and document resident conditions accurately
• Compassion, patience, and a positive attitude toward geriatric care
