Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic OB/GYN ultrasound exams accurately and compassionately, prioritizing patient comfort
• Process and transmit images to PACS promptly and ensure image quality meets departmental standards
• Operate ultrasound equipment and troubleshoot basic technical issues to minimize downtime
• Document exam findings and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians and the imaging team to support clinical decision-making
• Maintain and follow infection control, safety protocols, and department competency checklists
• Complete required exams and specialty competency testing to demonstrate and sustain skills

Qualifications

• RDMS (ARDMS) or S (AART) certification required
• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program OR current certification as outlined above
• Current BCLS/BLS (BCLS) certificate required upon hire and must be maintained
• Strong experience and proficiency in OB/GYN sonography
• Proficient computer skills for PACS and electronic documentation
• Willingness and ability to work scheduled days: Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Successful completion of required screenings and competency exams (drug screen, TB, immunizations, Prime exams)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound (sonography) program
• Or current RDMS (ARDMS) or S (AART) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven PACS workflow and image transmission experience
• Solid knowledge of OB/GYN anatomy and sonographic protocols
• Ultrasound physics and proper transducer selection/handling
• Patient positioning and exam technique to obtain diagnostic images
• Electronic medical record documentation and basic troubleshooting
• Infection control practices and safety procedures
• Strong interpersonal and patient-care communication skills
