Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality stepdown care to adult patients, ensuring close monitoring and timely interventions
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias and telemetry alerts
• Administer medications safely and apply principles of basic pharmacology in patient care
• Continuously monitor patient status using bedside monitoring systems and communicate changes to the care team
• Complete required documentation, competency assessments, and mandated screenings accurately and on time
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in unit-specific protocols and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Active RN license with verification via Nursys (license/certificate verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications as listed in the job requirements
• Comfortable with night shift nursing in a stepdown/telemetry environment
• Completion of required Prime exams and skills checklists (rhythm interpretation, pharmacology, core competencies, specialty exam, skills checklist)
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, TB test, Varicella, Tdap) and required drug screening and fit testing

Knowledge & Skills

• Stepdown care and monitoring best practices
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry management
• Basic pharmacology principles relevant to acute care
• Patient monitoring systems and recognizing changes in clinical status
• Strong clinical judgment and effective multidisciplinary communication
