Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Med-Surg Telemetry nursing care to assigned patients
• Monitor and assess telemetry patients, responding quickly to changes
• Float confidently between units such as Ortho, Neurology Step Down, Oncology, Surgical Telemetry and others
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, effective patient care
• Complete required Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists
• Document care accurately and communicate patient status during handoffs
• Support unit operations, including patient admissions, discharges, and transfers

Qualifications

• Active RN license (able to verify license/certification)
• Certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Additional certifications required: TNCC and NIHSS
• Experience in Med-Surg and Telemetry nursing and float pool experience preferred
• Willingness to float to multiple med-surg floors and to the West Lakes campus (approximately 9.5 miles from downtown)
• Ability to complete Trinity specialty competency testing, skills checklist, and required health screenings

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and interpretation skills
• Solid med-surg clinical assessment and patient care planning
• Comfortable managing post-op, ortho, oncology and step-down patients
• Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities
• Adaptability to float between units and handle varied patient populations
• Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
