Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor Med/Surg and telemetry patients, using critical thinking to detect changes early
• Interpret telemetry and report cardiac rhythm changes promptly to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care accurately in the chart
• Perform timely triage and interventions for acute changes, escalating per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and ancillary staff to deliver coordinated care
• Complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and maintain required skills checklists
• Provide compassionate patient and family education to support recovery and discharge planning
• Adhere to infection control practices, complete required health screenings and maintain compliance with immunization requirements

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) status with License/Certificate Verification
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
• Demonstrated experience in Med/Surg nursing and telemetry monitoring
• Ability to complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists
• Completed required occupational health items (fit test, 10-panel drug screen, immunizations, TB testing, physical/health statement)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Solid Med/Surg clinical knowledge including medication administration and wound/care management
• Proficient documentation in electronic health records and accurate handoff communication
• Excellent critical thinking, prioritization and time-management under busy shift conditions
• Familiarity with ACLS algorithms and stroke assessment using NIHSS
• Comfort with competency testing and maintaining specialty-specific skills
