Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality radiologic procedures in CT and X-ray for diagnostic interpretation, following department protocols
• Practice radiation safety and ALARA standards to protect patients and staff
• Perform and document quality control (QC) and troubleshoot equipment; notify leadership or service engineers as needed
• Verify orders, confirm patient identity with two identifiers, obtain informed consent when required, and document medical history related to the exam
• Provide patient education and compassionate care before, during, and after imaging procedures
• Assist with clerical duties, patient transport, and submission of registration and imaging forms to Health Information Management
• Notify radiologist of STAT/emergent exams and ensure prior studies are available for interpretation
• Participate in cross-training, staff education, on-call rotations, and departmental performance improvement activities

Qualifications

• Registered in at least two imaging modalities (examples: ARRT Radiology (R), CT, MR, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Sonography; or ARDMS credentials) OR eligible and able to obtain required registries within 1 year of hire
• Current BLS certification required (or must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
• Prior experience as a practicing technologist in one or more modalities is preferred (2 years preferred)
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet employee health requirements
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision, use independent judgment, and be a positive team member

Education

• Registry in at least two imaging modalities (or eligibility to obtain within 1 year)
• BLS certification (within 90 days if not current)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with CT and X-ray imaging procedures and equipment operation
• Radiation safety and ALARA practices
• Quality control (QC) and basic equipment troubleshooting
• Experience using PACS, RIS/HIS, and electronic medical records
• Strong patient communication and education skills
• Basic Microsoft Office familiarity and clerical skills
• Infection control practices and patient confidentiality adherence
