Roles & Responsibilities

Provide clinical direction and administrative supervision for nursing staff across the hospital overnight
Coordinate and optimize patient flow — ensuring timely admissions, transfers, and discharges
Assign and deploy nursing resources to meet patient care needs while maintaining safe nurse-to-patient ratios
Coach and mentor staff: monitor productivity, give constructive feedback, and support professional growth
Collaborate with charge nurses, clinical teams, and the Chief Nursing Officer on operational decisions
Resolve patient/family concerns and escalate issues appropriately to maintain high-quality service
Organize workflow, interpret and apply policies and procedures, and lead problem-solving during shifts
Oversee use and troubleshooting of advanced clinical equipment when needed (ventilators, A-lines, invasive lines, chest tubes)

Qualifications

Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Montana (required)
Minimum 3 years' RN hospital experience; recent ICU experience preferred and highly relevant
Current CPR required; ACLS and PALS required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment
Proven nurse leadership or resource nurse experience with strong people-management skills
Hands-on experience with ventilator support, multiple IV pumps, A-lines, invasive lines, and chest tubes
Ability to work independently, think critically, and manage a busy workload overnight

Education

Degree from a Nursing Program (Associate degree or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

Patient flow management and resource allocation
Clinical supervision and nursing leadership
Advanced nursing principles, post-operative care, and cardiac monitoring
Strong communication, conflict resolution, and coaching abilities
Comfort with basic office equipment and clinical devices used in critical care
Flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to initiate and lead special projects
