Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments and prioritize care based on clinical and psychosocial needs
• Coordinate interdisciplinary screenings and ensure timely completion of assessments
• Prepare and administer medications safely and according to policy and patient age/condition
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize dysrhythmias, and intervene per protocol
• Assist providers with specialty procedures and utilize specialty equipment when needed
• Provide clear, compassionate patient and family education about treatment plans and follow-up
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation, including histories, pain assessments, and medication records
• Participate in performance improvement activities and help maintain a safe care environment

Qualifications

• Current IL RN License (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• Registered Nurse with minimum 2 years experience (preferred)
• Critical Care or Cardiac Care experience — minimum 2 years preferred
• Strong EMR navigation skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently while contributing to a team

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and age-appropriate pain assessment
• Medication administration and safe medication management
• Cardiac monitoring and familiarity with adenosine pump and stress testing protocols
• Interdisciplinary communication and patient education
• Strong documentation practices and timely charting in EMR
• Excellent communication, customer service, prioritization, and multitasking abilities
