Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality bedside nursing care to adult med-surg patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and support staff to coordinate care
• Document patient status, interventions and outcomes clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Support safe and efficient patient transitions and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (able to practice in Maine or via appropriate compact licensure)
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing (Med Surg RN) — this is an experienced role
• Comfortable and proven ability to work 12-hour day shifts
• Influenza vaccination required by the state of Maine; only medical exemptions accepted with approval
• Strong communication, clinical judgment and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of med-surg patient assessment and care planning
• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients safely on 12-hour shifts
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting
• Effective interdisciplinary collaboration and patient/family education
