Shift Type: Rotating nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts. Schedule published in 6-week blocks; includes 6-9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Night shift (NOC) with floating assignments across PCU/IMC units.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care across PCU/IMC float assignments, supporting units such as Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab and more
• Manage and titrate cardiac drips and other vasoactive medications safely and according to protocol
• Administer and monitor insulin, heparin, and ativan with careful documentation and assessment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including RT and charge nurses, to coordinate patient care and transfers
• Maintain accurate, timely charting in Epic and ensure continuity of care during floats
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in adult and geriatric patient conditions, escalating concerns appropriately
• Support orientation and precepting activities as required and follow unit-specific policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to submit for Colorado) — license required to apply
• Minimum 2 years PCU/IMC (progressive care/stepdown) nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required
• Comfortable titrating and managing cardiac drips (dopamine, dobutamine, cardizem, amio), insulin, heparin, and ativan
• Experience with telemetry/stepdown patient populations and familiarity with 1:3-4 nurse:patient ratios
• Ability to float across specialties and work nights, weekends, and holiday rotations as needed
• Epic charting experience preferred; prior neuro experience a plus
• Valid driver’s license (DL must be submitted) and ability to obtain housing that supports a 60-mile float radius

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure. BSN is not required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac drip titration and vasoactive medication management
• Telemetry/PCU/stepdown assessment and monitoring
• Epic electronic health record proficiency (preferred)
• Familiarity with RT equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP) and working with respiratory therapy
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently on night shift and escalate to charge/leadership when appropriate
• Competence in adult and geriatric medical-surgical care across multiple specialties
