Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered CVICU nursing care in a fast-paced critical care environment
• Assess, monitor, and manage complex cardiac and post-operative patients using evidence-based practice
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — physicians, respiratory therapy, and other nursing staff — to optimize patient outcomes
• Administer medications, manage hemodynamic support, and respond to changes in patient condition promptly
• Document care accurately and legibly in the electronic medical record to ensure continuity of care
• Provide patient and family education with compassion and clear communication during the recovery process

Qualifications

• Current RN license (state of Texas or compact RN license) required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in CVICU or equivalent high-acuity cardiac critical care
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Demonstrated ability to manage ventilators, vasoactive drips, and post-operative cardiac patients
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility health requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiac critical care principles and post-operative cardiac management
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Skilled in EKG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition
• Comfortable with titration of vasoactive medications and advanced cardiac support
• Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and effective communication skills
• Accurate electronic medical record documentation and time management
