Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care on a Med-Surg/Telemetry unit
• Assess patient status and communicate changes promptly to the care team
• Monitor telemetry and vital signs, recognizing and escalating abnormalities
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to policy
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and support continuity of care
• Collaborate with RNs, PCTs and interdisciplinary staff to meet patient needs
• Support discharge planning and patient education to promote recovery
• Maintain unit standards for infection control, safety and professionalism

Qualifications

• Valid LVN/LPN license (required)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Hospital experience is required; med-surg/telemetry experience preferred
• 3+ years nursing experience preferred (candidates with this will be prioritized)
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR is a plus
• Comfort working 12-hour shifts and covering scheduled weekend shifts

Education

• LPN/LVN certification or vocational nursing diploma (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Med-Surg clinical skills and patient assessment
• Proficient documentation in Meditech (or similar EMR)
• IV therapy and medication administration basics for LVN scope
• Skilled communication and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital setting
• Use of common unit equipment (bladder scanner, vital sign machines)
