Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy assistance under the direction of licensed PTs to help patients regain mobility and function
• Implement and carry out individualized treatment plans and therapeutic exercises
• Document patient progress clearly and timely in the medical record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety techniques
• Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe treatment environment

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Texas, or eligible for Texas licensure
• Graduation from an accredited PTA program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification (if required by facility)
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work daytime shifts and commit to a 13-week contract

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program; PTA certification/licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic exercise techniques and modalities
• Proficiency in patient handling and mobility assistance
• Familiarity with outpatient documentation and EMR best practices
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients and families
• Ability to follow treatment plans and make appropriate clinical observations
