Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing to adult ICU patients, monitoring and responding to changes in condition
• Serve as Charge Nurse when assigned, coordinating patient flow, staffing, and unit priorities
• Administer treatments and medications safely, including care in settings requiring Conscious Sedation certification
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and other critical care interventions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
• Educate patients and families, offering compassionate support during high-stress situations
• Document care accurately and communicate effectively during handoffs and shifts

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in state of practice (or compact license if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience in the specialty required
• Charge Nurse experience required
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Conscious Sedation certification required or ability to obtain through facility
• Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
• Strong critical thinking, leadership, and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and patient stabilization
• Ventilator management and advanced respiratory care
• Hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Team leadership and ability to coordinate unit operations as Charge Nurse
• Patient and family education with cultural sensitivity
