Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide continuous airway management and ventilator support for patients across age groups
• Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilators (PB 980, PB 840, V60) and ParaPac transport vents
• Perform advanced respiratory interventions and support during physician consultations and emergencies
• Deliver high-quality CPR and respond to codes as needed
• Operate computerized charting systems and Pyxis medication management for safe documentation and medication delivery
• Care for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients with appropriate clinical judgment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement respiratory care plans
• Ensure safe patient transport and ventilator support during transfers

Qualifications

• State of Hawaii Respiratory Therapy License required by start of assignment
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• RRT preferred
• NRP preferred
• Proof of flu vaccination or a facility-approved medical/religious exception required prior to contract start
• No first assignments (candidate must have prior applicable experience)

Knowledge & Skills

• Airway management and advanced ventilator management
• Non-invasive ventilation and ventilator weaning strategies
• Experience with PB 980, PB 840, V60 and ParaPac transport ventilators
• Strong skills in computerized charting and Pyxis medication management
• Neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient care across acuity levels
• Code response and high-level CPR proficiency
• Ability to consult and communicate effectively with physicians and care teams
• Patient transport and ventilator troubleshooting during transfers
