Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; typically scheduled as 3x12s per week (36 hours/week) with every-other-weekend coverage (Sat & Sun when scheduled). Block scheduling and RTO-based scheduling; day-focused assignment (primary day shift coverage).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate sitter coverage and CNA care across telemetry and other hospital floors as needed
• Monitor and record vital signs reliably and escalate changes to the RN
• Perform feeding, ambulation assistance, turning/positioning, and hourly rounding to keep patients safe and comfortable
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC and complete required modules during orientation
• Support the nursing team by floating to other hospitals in the region when required
• Work collaboratively with charge nurses, resource nurses, and house supervisors to maintain unit flow
• Maintain professional appearance and communication while delivering respectful patient care

Qualifications

• Washington State CNA license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year hospital experience (posting notes minimum 1 year; system record indicates 2 years)
• Experience working on telemetry units and familiarity with sitter duties preferred
• Comfortable with EPIC charting and documentation
• Flexible, positive attitude and willingness to float between facilities when needed
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and meet the every-other-weekend requirement

Education

• Completion of an approved CNA program and current Washington CNA license (required)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• BLS certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry unit skills and basic cardiac monitoring awareness
• EPIC electronic charting and documentation best practices
• Proficient in obtaining and recording vital signs accurately
• Safe patient handling: ambulation, turning/positioning, and feeding assistance
• Strong communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Hourly rounding practices and patient safety protocols
• Sitter utilization and observational reporting
