Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients quickly and accurately
• Administer medications and IV therapy safely and according to protocol
• Collaborate with emergency physicians, techs, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Document patient care clearly and promptly in the electronic health record
• Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and escalate care as needed
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and next steps
• Maintain situational awareness and contribute to a calm, efficient ED environment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California or eligibility for one
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
• Previous emergency room experience is highly valued
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to pass background screening and drug testing as required
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency department triage and rapid assessment
• ACLS/BLS protocols and emergency interventions
• IV insertion, medication administration, and wound care
• Electronic health record documentation and charting accuracy
• Prioritization in high-acuity, fast-paced settings
• Effective teamwork and clear communication under pressure
