Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist and support cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgical procedures in the CVOR with precision and calm
• Maintain a sterile field and ensure operating room safety for complex cardiovascular cases
• Monitor patients intraoperatively and communicate critical changes to the surgical team
• Document perioperative care accurately using Meditech and unit protocols
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiology, scrub techs and unit staff to ensure fast, safe case turnover
• Participate in on-call coverage and respond promptly to emergent cases when scheduled
• Promote excellent patient experience through compassionate, clear communication and high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum of 2 years CVOR or cardiovascular operating room experience (as noted in the posting)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (preferred)
• Hands-on experience with cardiac procedures such as CABG, valve replacements (mitral/aortic), AAA and fem-pop bypass
• Comfortable working with Meditech documentation system and standard OR equipment
• Ability to work M-F shifts and participate in on-call rotations, including occasional weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular, thoracic and vascular surgical procedures
• Proven ability in sterile technique and operating room protocols
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation and OR workflow
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, especially with surgeons and scrub techs
• Experience supporting fast case turnover and efficient OR pacing
• Attention to detail for patient safety and surgical instrumentation
