Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care and treatments to patients with compassion and clinical accuracy
• Administer and monitor respiratory therapies, oxygen, and ventilator support as indicated
• Assess patients' respiratory status and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient record and communicate handoffs clearly
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to stay current with best practices and facility protocols
• Ensure equipment is maintained, cleaned, and ready for safe patient use

Qualifications

• Active Washington state Respiratory Care license or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced certifications a plus
• Clinical experience in bedside respiratory care, ventilator management, and oxygen therapy preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients and clinical teams
• Willingness to participate in orientation and follow facility-specific protocols

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, diploma, or equivalent clinical training
• CRT or RRT credential preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, and aerosolized therapies
• Ability to perform and interpret basic respiratory assessments and ABGs
• Familiarity with airway management and emergency respiratory interventions
• Good clinical documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
• Infection control practices and safe equipment handling
• Teamwork, adaptability, and patient-centered bedside manner
