Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, treatment and ongoing evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies and acute respiratory conditions
• Manage and troubleshoot ventilators including Servo-1, Servo-U and V60 to optimize patient ventilation
• Administer high flow oxygen therapy, CPAP/BiPAP and other noninvasive support safely and effectively
• Perform airway suctioning, manage oxygen cylinders and nebulizer treatments
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate changes in condition promptly
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust patient respiratory plans
• Participate in emergency response and code team activities when needed
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Active NBRC credential and state Respiratory Therapist license (RRT)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital RRT experience
• At least one prior travel assignment required
• Comfortable working independently in a fast paced acute care setting and participating in a collaborative team approach

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in ventilator management and modes used on Servo and V60 platforms
• Proficient with high flow oxygen therapy, CPAP/BiPAP and advanced airway management
• Skilled in suctioning, oxygen delivery systems and basic respiratory equipment maintenance
• Strong documentation skills using Meditech (preferred) and accurate clinical charting
• Ability to build collaborative physician relationships and take an active disciplinary approach
• Experience with stroke education and related respiratory implications is a plus
