Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement and evaluate
• Provide direct patient care and continuously monitor cardiac rhythms in the telemetry unit
• Communicate promptly with physicians about changes in clinical condition and diagnostic results
• Lead patient and family education to support recovery and self-care
• Coordinate and guide other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care
• Respond quickly and accurately to patient condition changes and treatment responses
• Document patient status, interventions and outcomes clearly and professionally

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License
• BLS (required) and ACLS (required)
• Nursys verification as listed in the checklist
• DCI/BVP certification indicated in job requirements
• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience
• Ventilator management experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred
• Comfort with rapid assessment, clinical decision-making and teamwork in a telemetry setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and ongoing monitoring
• Care planning, implementation and evaluation
• Direct patient care in a telemetry environment
• Cardiac monitoring and basic rhythm interpretation
• Patient and family education techniques
• Familiarity with Prime competency and specialty testing expectations
• Infection control and documentation best practices
• Ability to communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
