Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
• Manage mechanical ventilation and vasoactive drips safely and effectively
• Perform and assist with procedures such as intubations, lumbar punctures and chest tube placement
• Monitor and document patient status using Meditech and ICU monitoring equipment
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy and the multidisciplinary team to create and execute care plans
• Educate families and provide family-centered care with clear, empathetic communication
• Support unit staffing needs and mentor teammates when appropriate to maintain high quality care

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with active licensure (RN listed in required skills)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience as indicated in the job details
• Pediatric experience required; Pediatric ICU experience required
• Comfort and experience with critical care interventions common in PICU, including mechanical ventilation and vasoactive drips
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour night shifts and participate in weekend coverage

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
• Experience with Hillrom beds, GC monitors, Plum 360 pumps and Medfusion syringe pumps
• Skilled in pediatric critical care procedures such as intubation, lumbar puncture and chest tube care
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in high-acuity pediatric situations
• Teamwork, adaptability and a growth mindset to accept feedback and improve
