Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care across Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Unit patients from newborn to geriatric
• Monitor cardiac telemetry continuously and interpret rhythms, responding promptly to dysrhythmias
• Administer and manage IV drips and meds commonly seen on unit, including insulin, heparin, and diltiazem
• Perform one main head-to-toe assessment per shift and complete pain, Braden, and fall assessments as required
• Carry out hourly rounding and timely pain medication assessments to keep patients safe and comfortable
• Manage admissions (admissions end at midnight) and prioritize care in a small, rural hospital setting
• Work independently and make sound clinical decisions while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure required skills checklists and profile items are up to date

Qualifications

• Active New Hampshire RN license or Compact license required and must be uploaded with profile
• Current American Heart Association BLS required
• Current American Heart Association ACLS required
• Minimum 3+ years combined experience in PCU, Med/Surg, and Telemetry required
• Basic dysrhythmia test documented in profile is required
• Own reliable vehicle for assignment and include permanent address in profile
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years required
• Skills checklists for Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Unit current to 1 year required
• Previous travel nursing experience and rural/small facility experience highly preferred
• Ensure voicemail is set up and include reachable contact hours in your profile

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Dysrhythmia recognition and rapid intervention
• IV therapy and drip management including insulin, heparin, and diltiazem
• Comprehensive assessment skills and focused shift-based reassessments
• Ability to work independently in a small, rural hospital environment
• Strong clinical judgment and prioritization with varying acuity (RN:patient ratios range)
• Effective communication, documentation, and teamwork
• Comfort managing both acute and rehab patient needs
