Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, including chemotherapy per protocol
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings clearly and promptly
• Provide compassionate patient and caregiver education about diagnosis, treatment and side-effect management
• Assist providers during examinations and infusion visits to ensure efficient, high-quality care
• Respond calmly and effectively to emergency situations and escalate when needed
• Collaborate as an engaged member of the healthcare team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Apply ICD-10 and CPT coding basics in documentation to support accurate medical records
• Operate and maintain clinical equipment used for examination and treatment procedures

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license (required)
• Meets American Heart Association standards for Healthcare Provider BLS and renews every two years
• Minimum one year of oncology nursing experience (required)
• ONS bio/chemo or fundamentals certification preferred — must have or be able to complete within 2 weeks of hire
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow physician orders and clinic procedures
• Comfortable making clinical judgments, prioritizing patient needs, and working under pressure

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and infusion safety
• Oncology nursing principles and chemotherapy administration
• Patient assessment, education and counseling
• Emergency response and clinical decision-making
• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding basics
• Office procedures, clinical documentation and medical terminology
• Use of common examination and treatment equipment
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
