Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry strips and quickly identify changes in cardiac rhythm to keep patients safe
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings clearly to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to policies and provider orders
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and allied health staff to develop and adjust care plans
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, telemetry findings, and discharge instructions
• Respond promptly to emergencies and activate rapid response or code teams when needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California (required)
• Telemetry nursing experience or recent telemetry unit experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Comfortable with acute care workflows and rapid assessment in a telemetry setting
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, patient-focused attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and act quickly on changes
• Skilled in bedside assessments, IV therapy, and medication administration
• Familiarity with telemetry equipment and continuous cardiac monitoring best practices
• Experience with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Time management, prioritization, and teamwork in a fast-paced unit
