Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist clinical team with patient intake, vitals, and rooming to ensure a smooth visit flow
• Prepare patients and equipment for oncology procedures and treatments with attention to safety
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen handling following protocol and chain-of-custody guidelines
• Document patient interactions and clinical data in the electronic health record accurately and promptly
• Support patient education by reinforcing care instructions and answering routine questions with compassion
• Coordinate with nursing and providers to anticipate needs and keep the clinic on schedule

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent credential preferred
• Experience or strong interest in Medical Oncology preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or obtained upon hire
• Demonstrated skill in phlebotomy and basic clinical procedures
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for compassionate patient care
• Ability to work reliably Monday through Friday in a fast-paced clinic environment

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of oncology clinic workflows and treatment terminology
• Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation
• Strong patient triage, vital signs collection, and infection control practices
• Good organizational skills and ability to multitask during busy clinic days
• Familiarity with specimen labeling, handling, and basic lab processes
