Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting with dignity and respect
• Help with safe transfers and mobility support while using proper body mechanics
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
• Provide compassionate companionship and engage residents in social and recreational activities
• Accurately document care tasks, vitals and resident notes in accordance with facility procedures
• Follow infection control, safety and privacy policies to maintain a safe environment

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility
• Pass background check and any state-mandated clearances
• Comfortable working with elderly residents and supporting their daily needs
• Reliable transportation and ability to work per-diem shifts

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a state-approved GNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic patient care and assistance with ADLs
• Safe transfer and mobility techniques
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents and families
• Basic documentation and charting skills
• Understanding of infection prevention and safety practices
• Teamwork and the ability to follow nursing directions
