Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric patients, helping them maintain dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and record vital signs and observe changes in patient condition
• Follow individualized care plans and report clinical changes to nursing staff promptly
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control policies
• Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team and families

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required) — you are a certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant
• Current state registry status or ability to become registered as required by Maryland
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills, compassion, and reliable attendance

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent training

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfort and competence with geriatric care and common eldercare needs
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and maintaining patient dignity
• Able to take and record vital signs accurately
• Knowledgeable in basic infection control and safety practices
• Team player with clear, professional communication skills
• Familiarity with basic charting and documentation practices
