Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and report clinical changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document care accurately and timely in patient records to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Follow infection control policies and facility protocols to maintain a safe environment
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support resident-centered care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in good standing (required)
• Active or eligible for state CNA registration or license in New Mexico
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehab settings preferred
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and ADLs
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control practices and PPE use
• Comfortable with charting and basic documentation practices
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy setting
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents and care teams
