Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer infusion therapies including chemotherapy, antibiotics, blood products, iron and IV fluids with precision and compassion
• Perform IV/infusion administration and various injections safely and according to protocol
• Assess patients before, during and after treatments; monitor for reactions and intervene as needed
• Document patient care clearly and timely in EPIC to ensure continuity and accuracy
• Educate patients and families about infusion treatments, side effect management and self-care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
• Follow infection control and safety policies, including facility fingernail/artificial nail requirements
• Help maintain efficient unit flow in a busy outpatient infusion setting (approximately 50 patients/day)

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in the applicable jurisdiction (required)
• BLS (AHA) certification required at time of submission
• Driver's license required at time of submittal (used to verify 50-mile radius eligibility)
• Minimum ~2 years of nursing experience preferred (per job details)
• Hands-on experience with infusion therapy, IV administration and medication administration
• EPIC charting experience (required)
• Chemotherapy certification and oncology infusion experience highly preferred
• Willingness to pass an orientation pass/fail skills exam (90% required to pass)

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of infusion therapy principles and IV medication administration
• Familiarity with chemotherapy handling and oncology patient care
• Proficient in EPIC electronic charting and clinical documentation
• Excellent patient assessment and monitoring skills during infusions
• Solid infection control practices and attention to detail
• Good communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy outpatient infusion unit
