Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality acute care to MedSurg, Telemetry and PCU patients across both campuses
• Interpret cardiac monitor strips and manage telemetry patients confidently
• Titrate and manage common drips (Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Insulin) safely and per protocol
• Provide post-procedural care for cath lab and CABG patients, including groin site care and postoperative monitoring
• Collaborate with monitor techs, RTs and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Float between units (including inpatient holds in the ED) and adapt quickly to changing assignments
• Serve as a dependable team member on night shift; assist with admissions, transfers and acute events
• Complete required orientation and pass the dysrhythmia exam (see qualifications) before contract start

Qualifications

• Valid RN license (able to submit required license) in good standing
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Minimum experience: 2 years overall experience preferred; at least 1 year caring for PCU/stepdown patients required
• Comfortable and experienced with telemetry, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and drip titration
• Able to pass the dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% within two attempts prior to contract
• Willingness to float across campuses and respond to text assignment notifications (typically 2 hours prior)
• Must not have been full-time, part-time or PRN with any CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facility in the past year (50-mile radius rule applies)

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• PCU/stepdown and MedSurg patient management
• Intravenous drip titration and hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience with Cerner electronic charting system
• CPAP/BiPAP and heated high-flow familiarity
• Ability to prioritize and triage in high-acuity situations
• Strong communication skills for handoffs and interdisciplinary collaboration
