Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-anesthesia care for cardiac pre/post patients with attention to patient safety and recovery
• Monitor cardiac telemetry continuously and rapidly identify/treat dysrhythmias
• Perform and document skilled nursing procedures including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, maintaining a sterile field
• Serve in charge nurse duties when assigned, coordinating care and communicating with multidisciplinary teams
• Complete facility SIMs Lab competencies and apply learned skills safely in clinical practice
• Support patient throughput from Cath Lab recovery through discharge, ensuring comfort and education

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for submission (state of AZ preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required; ICU experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (two attempts allowed)
• Comfortable performing Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes; willing to complete SIMs Lab skills testing
• Travelers must have a valid driver’s license and their own vehicle
• Professional appearance standards: natural hair color, no facial piercings; men must be clean shaven for fit testing

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN not required for this role

Knowledge & Skills

• Post Anesthesia Care and cardiac post-op care
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac monitoring (Philips tele equipment)
• Sterile technique and maintaining sterile field
• EMR documentation in Cerner
• Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing change
• Wound care, lifts and safe patient handling, restraint application
• Charge nurse responsibilities and strong communication skills
