Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate for all service lines, ensuring safe, efficient operations in a busy OR
• Respond to and manage incoming traumas with calm, confident clinical judgment
• Maintain aseptic technique and patient safety standards throughout procedures
• Document care accurately and timely in Epic to support continuity and billing
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, techs and support staff to optimize outcomes
• Advocate for patients and families while coordinating perioperative care
• Assist with OR throughput, setup, turnover and equipment management

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — active licensure expected for practice in Georgia (compact license acceptable where applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of OR/Trauma nursing experience
• Must have Level II or Level I trauma experience (explicit requirement)
• Circulating RN experience across all service lines, including incoming traumas
• Epic documentation experience (listed as unit documentation system)
• CNOR preferred (certification encouraged but not strictly required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of perioperative nursing and circulating role
• Experience managing trauma cases and prioritizing rapid interventions
• Proficiency with Epic documentation in the OR setting
• Strong teamwork and communication skills in fast-paced surgical environments
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot common OR equipment and instrumentation
• Attention to detail for patient safety, counts, and sterile technique
